Peach and Berry Compote

This concept is genius! It’s easy to prepare, convenient, and serves nicely for any occasion.

 

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 2 (15.25-ounce) cans peach halves, drained well plus 2 fresh peaches, sliced for garnish

  • 1 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla Extract

  • 8 ounces berry applesauce (or any flavor for contrast)

Directions

Make the Compote

1.

In a food processor, combine canned peaches and vanilla. Blend until smooth.

2.

Spoon into glass cups. Top with berry applesauce. Garnish with sliced peaches.

Fresh peaches Can I use fresh peaches for this? Would the consistency change?

Fresh is always better. But you would need to cook them first. To get that consistency.

I don’t see why not. But it’s canned fruit, so it should last for a while in the fridge.
