Spiced Red Tuna on Skewers

Like all tuna recipes, these are very easy to prepare, look attractive, and are very tasty.

Ingredients

Tuna

  • 28 ounces (800 grams) tuna fillet, cubed (with skin and fat removed)

Marinade

  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional, if you like it hot)

  • salt

  • pepper

Directions

For the Fish

1.

Combine all the marinade ingredients. Place tuna cubes in a bowl, pour the marinade over them, and leave in the refrigerator for at least four hours.

2.

As they marinate, soak wooden skewers in water to prevent scorching.

3.

Spear three to four cubes of tuna onto each skewer and place on an oven pan lined with Gefen Parchment Paper.  Pour the remaining marinade over the skewers. 

4.

Heat the oven to broiling temperature and place the pan on the shelf closest to the grill.

5.

Grill skewers for a few minutes on each side until golden.

6.

Remove and serve immediately.
