I love Chanukah time. It gives me a chance to make a cozy, snowy, magical time of year even more special for my family. And I have 8 nights (or 8 opportunities) to do something amazing for them!

Whether it be to give my loved ones special little gifts each night, one extra special and lavish gift that they’ll cherish forever, or a very festive meal- I just love it all!

Having said that, I also love easy ideas! There’s nothing better than a really easy craft or meal idea that takes minutes to throw together, but makes a BIG impact.

That’s exactly what these dreidel-shaped breakfasts are about.

Each breakfast idea is super easy to put together, and will surely put a smile on your family’s face.

Pick one, pick two, or pick them all! Even better? Make them with your kids! And as always, have fun!

Belgian Dreidel Waffles

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
2 large eggs, divided
2 cups milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Blue food coloring (I like to use gel for a bold color)
1 chocolate bar, broken into rectangle pieces
Silver edible glitter spray, if desired
Icing (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat waffle iron.

2. In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

3. Separate your yolks into a large bowl, and your egg whites into a separate bowl. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until combined.

4. Whip the egg whites for 2-3 minutes (I used an electric hand mixer on medium speed) until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped egg whites into the waffle batter with a spatula. Add in a few drops of food coloring and gently fold it in.

5. Grease the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray and pour batter into the iron. Cook according to waffle irons instructions. Place one triangle of the waffle upside down. Place the piece of chocolate on top or attach with cookie icing. Spray with edible glitter spray.

Dreidel Pancakes

Cookie icing
Assorted sprinkles

Directions:

1. Heat pancakes according to package directions or use your favorite pancake recipe.

2. Cut shapes out with a cookie cutter and decorate with icing and sprinkles.

Fruit Salad Dreidel

Ingredients:

Blueberries
Clementines, peeled and separated into segments
Green apple, cut into slices
Strawberries, cut into a large dice

Directions:

1. Arrange the fruit on a plate starting with the blueberries.

2. Make the outline of an upside down triangle with blueberries then fill it in. Add the orange segments on top followed by the apple slices. Form the strawberries into a rectangle at the top.

Dreidel Egg-In-A-Hole

Ingredients:

6 slices bread
6 eggs
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 cup sauteed spinach
1 onion, diced and sauteed
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Butter, for pan

Directions:

1. Use a large dreidel cookie cutter to cut out a shape from the bread. Reserve the cutouts to toast later!

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, cheddar, milk, sauteed veggies and spices.

3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add 1-2 slices of bread and cook until golden, about 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low, and flip.

4. Pour egg mixture into the cutout shape. Cover the skillet and cook until the egg is set, 3-4 minutes. Transfer the slice(s) to a plate and repeat with the remaining bread.

5. Toast the cut outs and serve with the dreidel in a hole!
