Did you know that approximately 90% of food allergic reactions occur from either milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustacean shellfish (not applicable to us), wheat, and soy? These allergens are known as "the big 8" and can make it a real challenge for parents and kids who have to worry about them on a daily basis.
Now imagine hosting a child with one or more of these allergens for a play date. Cue the head scratching.
We searched the internet to find the tastiest, most delicious, and fun snacks on the market that are free of all eight allergens so no kid (or adult) has to feel deprived or left out.
Next time you invite kids with allergies over for a play date, just refer back to this list! Just remember that manufacturing and ingredients lists on packaged foods can always change, so be sure to check the ingredients list for allergens before serving. Also be sure to always run food choices by parents to ensure it is safe for their child to eat.
