    Yogurt in recipes

    So many times in baking, I will stumble across "yogurt" as an ingredient. I want to know what I can do to replace it (not nondairy yogurt or coconut milk.) I would also like to know IF it is crucial to the recipe and would like to know HOW crucial to a baking recipe is it??
