Many children and adults dabbled with Diamond Art Painting in some form, at some point during quarantine. I took that excitement and brought it “to the table” with an edible Chanukah twist.
Our graphic designer, Leah of OMGdesigns, designed picture graphs for a couple of different skill levels. We have a large picture made with tiny lentils that can be made by a single person, or you can divide the picture in sections and have four different people work on it and then join the parts together (see picture).
She also designed a picture with large lentils that will be easier for those tiny fingers. This is a great fine motor activity.
You will need:
- Large or tiny chocolate lentils
- Clear plate or transparency paper
- Crayons or markers (optional)
- Tape (optional)
- White chocolate-melted (optional)
- Toothpick (optional)
Directions:
Cut out the graph and the color key. Decide on your colors and place lentils on the key.
You can also color in the graph with markers or crayons (this adds to the activity).
Place the graph under a plate or the transparency sheet. Tape in place (optional).
Fill in the graph with the lentils.
Lentils do not have to be “glued” down unless you feel your child will get frustrated if it gets messed up. To “glue” the lentils down, use the melted chocolate. Using a toothpick will keep it neater. Allow to dry.
