We have thousands of recipes from published cookbooks, magazines, and celebrities, but here at Kosher.com one of our goals is to shine a light on the future rising stars of the kosher foodie world. So we’ve opened up our site to anyone who cooks – whether for a food blog, Instagram, or just for family and friends! We call them our community chefs.

Kosher.com community chefs are a key part of the Kosher.com experience, contributing to what makes our site the most diverse collection of all types of kosher recipes.

Our community chefs have their own page of recipes and/or articles with links to their personal platforms; are featured in our email newsletters, Instagram feed, and stories; and their own special article introducing them to our audience.

Do you want to become a community chef? Learn more about the program and how to apply HERE!

Without further ado, meet Miriam Diamant!

1. How did you get into cooking and baking?

I always had a passion for baking. In the recent years, I have developed allergies to Gluten, Dairy, Eggs, and a few other ingredients… I started creating healthier versions of my favorite treats; some of my family and friends had asked me to share a few recipes with them and it quickly turned into a full-time gig!

2. What is your favorite kitchen gadget?

If you have been following me on YouTube, you already know my most favorite Kitchen Gadget is my Cuisinart Food Processor. I use it every day and have no idea what I would do without it.

3. How do you find the time to work on your recipes?

I am lucky to be working from home; it has given me the flexibility to carve out time for recipe development.

4. How would you describe your cooking style?

Healthy would be the first way to describe it, but I would also say simple, creative, oh, and sweet too!

5. Where do you get inspiration for your recipes?

I usually look at my favorite recipes and desserts that I am unable to enjoy due to the ingredients it contains, and I try recreating them using different flours, sweeteners, and overall healthier, more nutrient-dense ingredients.

6. Do you have a signature dish?

Can muffins count as a “dish”? I love my Gluten Free Carrot Muffins, sometimes as a midday snack, sometimes I pair it with coffee and enjoy it as my breakfast and sometimes it serves as Friday night dessert.

Fun fact: it took me quite a few tries until I perfected this recipe; we were eating all kinds of failed batches for a full week. There were flatter ones, sweeter ones, fallen apart ones, very carroty ones, but once I achieved the final recipe it was so delicious and it is now something my Husband requests I make a batch of, every single week!

7. What are your favorite recipes on Kosher.com?

So many delicious options, I get lost when I browse! Honestly, my favorite recipes are the ones without eggs/white sugar but I do appreciate the immense talent of ALL chefs, and I am grateful to be a part of this community!

8. What are your favorite cooking videos to watch?

I love watching Nisha from Rainbow Plant Life, she has so many delicious vegan recipes, salads, desserts, and tips on healthy living!

9. What is your favorite cookbook?

My favorite cookbook is The Complete Plant Based Cookbook!

10. Do you have a favorite ingredient to cook with?

Yes! Medjool dates! They are an amazing natural sweetener with so many benefits. Definitely my favorite ingredient and a win-win when creating those healthy sweet treats!!

11. What advice can you offer first-time cooks?

Clean as you go. I have to admit, it saves so much time (and stress). I put away ingredients, wipe down surfaces, and rinse utensils as soon as I am done using them! I have very little work left by the time my goodies come out of the oven!

Also, do not be afraid to experiment, try new things, and, most of all, have fun with it!
