I made this dish 2 years ago for my Shuls cholent competiton and I won!

Ingredients

Award winning Cholent recipe

  • 6 Yukon gold potatoes, peeled, cut in half

  • 2 onions, peeled, diced

  • 1 cup barley

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed

  • 1 salami, cut into hasselback( slice thinly horizontally but not all the way through)

  • 3 marrow bones

  • 10 fresh garlic cloves, peeled, each cut in half

  • 6 cups chicken broth

  • 2 pounds cheek meat

  • 2 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp granulated garlic

place all ingredients in order in a crock pot. set on low and cover. cook for 12-24 hours and enjoy!
