Diets For the times when you want something a bit different than chocolate fondue…try this butterscotch version! Super simple and quick to make, this may very well become a family favorite!
6 tablespoons butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons water
2 and 1/2 tablespoons Boondocks Bourbon or other whiskey
1 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla
assorted fresh fruit and berries, cut into cubes
cubes of pound cake
chopped nuts or brittle
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Increase heat and add brown sugar and water. Stir mixture for one minute. Mixture will bubble vigorously.
Stir in whiskey and vanilla. Transfer butterscotch sauce to a fondue pot and light the heat source.
Arrange fruit and cake on a platter. Place chopped nuts into a bowl. Dip fruit and cake into the butterscotch and then into chopped nuts.
