Ingredients

Cheese filled yeast cake with Streusel

  • dry yeast

  • sugar

  • water or milk

  • eggs

  • flour

  • butter

  • farmer cheese

  • cream cheese

  • vanilla extract

  • powdered sugar

  • small loaf pans

for the filling

mix 3 3/8 C farmer cheese

1 1/8 C cream cheese

1 1/2 C sugar

1/2 C melted butter

1 t van extract

3 egg yolks

3 T flour

mix until smooth. divide into four and place in loaf pans freeze for 2 hrs

for the dough

1 T dry yeast

3/4 C sugar

1 C warm water or milk

1 egg

4 1/2 C flour

2/3 C softened butter

1/2 t salt

1/2 t van extract

MIX all ingredients in bowl until smooth. use dough hook knead for about 10 min until it becomes a soft dough. place in a warm spot rise for 2 hrs

Streusel

mix 1 c flour

1/2 C sugar

1/2 C softened butter

mix until crumbs are formed

preheat oven 325

divide the dough into four and roll into an 8”x12” rectangle (about three times the size of the loaf pan)

remove frozen filling and place in the center of the dough and wrap the sides of the dough towards the center. place back into loaf pans. egg the dough and generously sprinkle

with the streusel

bake for 40 min or until nicely browned
