Coconut Meringue Bars



Prepare the Dough

1. Mix ingredients for dough until smooth. Roll out and place into the prepared pan.  
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a nine- x 13-inch pan.

Prepare the Nut Mixture

1. Combine ingredients for nut mixture. Spread and slightly press onto dough.  

Prepare the Meringue

1. Beat egg whites and brown sugar until stiff. Spread over the nut mixture.
2. Bake for 40 minutes.
3. While cake is still hot, mark one-and-a-half- by one-inch rectangles. Cool and cut into bars.
