This green bean recipe is a real hit because it’s easy, and green beans don’t require bug-checking. It looks pretty and smells delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds green beans, trimmed and rinsed

  • 1/2 red onion, very thinly sliced

  • 1 large clove garlic, finely chopped (not frozen)

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 3 tablespoons sugar, or to taste

Directions

Prepare the Green Beans

Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add green beans and blanch (boil for about two minutes). Drain and cool green beans in an ice-water bath.

2.

In a bowl, mash garlic with kosher salt. Add sugar and honey. Add in mustard, forming a paste. Whisk in vinegar. Slowly pour in olive oil and whisk well.

3.

Toss green beans and onion with dressing. Let sit for one hour before serving.

Prepare the Green Beans

Yield: 4 to 6 servings

can this be made in advance? should it be served cold?

Yes, this can definitely be made in advance and you can serve it either cold or warm.
