A family fave! My mom made these delicious meatballs for Yomim Tovim and we all looked forward!
3 to 3 and 1/2 lbs chopped meat
1/2 c. oats
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp onion powder
2 diced onions
1 15-oz can mushrooms
1 15-oz can tomato sauce
2 c. sugar
1 c. lemon juice
1 c. water
a pinch of salt
Pour water over oats to soften.
Combine the meat ingredients. Form into balls.
Combine sauce ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Add meatballs and simmer covered for 2 hours.
