3 to 4 tablespoons oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 cloves garlic, chopped
7 fresh white mushrooms, quartered
13-ounce bag roasted chestnuts, sliced
2 tablespoons flour
1 and 1/2 cups Tuscanini White Wine
3 cups water
1 pack Tuscanini Mini Gnocchi (don’t precook)
In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium high heat. Add the onions, salt, brown sugar,and black pepper. Sauté until golden brown (about 10 to 15 minutes). Add the garlic, mushrooms, and chestnuts. Cook for two to three minutes until mushrooms are caramelized.
Stir in flour, mixing well. Add the wine and water and bring to a boil.
Add the mini gnocchi (straight from the package) and simmer on low until the mixture has thickend (about five to seven minutes) stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
