Ingredients

Mushroom Chestnut Gnocchi

  • 3 to 4 tablespoons oil

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 7 fresh white mushrooms, quartered

Directions

1.

In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium high heat. Add the onions, salt, brown sugar, and black pepper. Sauté until golden brown (about 10 to 15 minutes). Add the garlic, mushrooms, and chestnuts. Cook for two to three minutes until mushrooms are caramelized.

2.

Stir in flour, mixing well. Add the wine and water and bring to a boil.

3.

Add the mini gnocchi (straight from the package) and simmer on low until the mixture has thickend (about five to seven minutes) stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.

Tips:

The liquid tends to absorb into the gnocchis. Feel free to add additional water until desired consistency when reheating.
