A Japanese twist to commemorating the Greek miracle!
Submitted by Esty Gross
sushi rice, cooked to package instructions
julienned vegetables, kani, fish, or any sushi filler of your desire
Tempura batter
oil, for frying
Roll out the rice on a clean surface using a parchment paper over it. With a three inch cookie cutter cut out circles of rice.
Fill the center of half of your circles with rice leaving a 1/2 inch empty all around the edges.
Place a empty sushi circle directly over each full one; using a fork press the edges down (if the rice gets sticky, you can make the fork wet).
Dip the sushi circles into the tempura batter getting a thick coat of batter (re-dip if necessary).
Fry in sizzling oil until each side turns golden.
Serve hot with your favorite sushi sauces. Eat and enjoy!
