Yussi hits another home run with this yapchik recipe. Using a mix of meats and topped with some beef fry for an added layer of flavor, this is definitely not your typical potato kugel! Just in time for Sukkot, this recipe for yapchik is made in the crockpot, and is the perfect delicacy to enjoy in the chilly Sukkah.

Slow Cooker Yapchik
9 Idaho potatoes
1/2 small onion
5 eggs
1 and 1/2 tablespoons salt
1/2 teaspoon Gefen Black Pepper
3 pounds meat (flanken/cheek for best results)
2 marrow bones

I love anything made with good fatty marbleized flanken. Your recipe states 3 lbs of meat (flanken or cheek meat) but your plate of meat and the amount of meat you stuffed into the crock pot looks more like 6 pounds of meat. At the going price of approximately $30 for a pound of good flanken, this yapchik would probably cost more than $150 to make! I know – L’Kovod Shabbos Kodesh, but…..
