Smokey Green Beans

This method lends an unexpected smokey flavor that you don’t get from any other method. Because green beans cook so quickly, they can be al dente and full of flavor.

30m 6
Easy Vegetarian Pescatarian Gluten Free Parve

Contains: Soy

Directions

  1. Parboil the green beans for three minutes in a pot or in the microwave.

  2. Heat the oil in an aluminum pan over medium heat (not high). Add the green beans in batches so you don’t overcrowd the pan. Let it sit until it

develops charred spots in several places.

  3. Remove the green beans from the pan and set aside.

When they’re all finished, season with the remaining ingredients and toss to combine. Heads up: they’ll be gone in minutes!

Notes:
Leeching is a very legitimate health concern when using disposable aluminum pans. There are three main things you can
do to avoid it.

1. Don’t use a pan that’s super thin. We all know the thick, heavy-duty aluminum pans from the thin ones.

2. Don’t add salt or any acid while the food is in the pan.

3. Don’t let the pan get too hot, and be super careful
to avoid flare-ups.
