We are so excited to finally welcome you to the new, updated version of Kosher.com. Come on in to our “kitchen” and we’ll give you a tour of all the new features. There may not be a new oven or a new refrigerator, but we have plenty of other features that we hope you’ll love.
We know that you come to Kosher.com for many different reasons. Sometimes it’s a regular Tuesday at 4:30pm and you need quick dinner ideas, other times Yom Tov is coming and you still need to plan your menu.
As we worked on the new site, our goal for every new feature we added was that we wanted to make it easier to get from “I need to feed people again” to “I know what I’m making.”
The result is an entirely new Kosher.com, with all the same recipes, articles and videos you know and love, but with more new features, structured around the way you actually cook and plan meals.
Find What You Actually Want to Make

Search was one of the biggest things we wanted to improve.
If you’re thinking, I need an easy dinner with ground beef. Or What can I make with leftover chicken? Or, I need a dairy dessert for a crowd — now you can search Kosher.com that way.
The new search understands much more natural, everyday questions, and then if you want to, you can narrow the results with our famous detailed filters for ingredients, diets, holidays, course types and more, to make it faster to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Keep Track of All Those Recipes

The Favorites folder has always been popular on Kosher.com, but once you have 50, 100 or several hundred favorites, you’ve created a new search problem for yourself.
The solution: now you can organize your saved recipes into folders. Start thinking of your “Favorite Easy Dinners”, “Shabbos Recipes for Company,” and “Kid-Favorite Muffins,” because now you can save them all and refer to them any time.
We made sure that recipes can live in more than one folder, because your favorite chicken recipe should be able to get filed under both “Weeknight Dinners” and “Easy Chicken Recipes.”

We also added a brand new feature: a button to check off on every recipe called I Made This. Now you can go back and see all the recipes you’ve actually made, not just bookmarked for later, in one place (the My Kitchen section of your account); plus see how many other people have made that recipe.
You may not always remember a year later which recipes you served, but Kosher.com can.
Build a Real Menu, Not Just a Collection of Links
Sometimes you don’t want another list of 100 recipes to choose from. You want someone to tell you exactly what goes together on one complete menu.
That’s why we built out our Menus section with complete, ready-made menu ideas. Browse a Shabbos menu, Yom Tov menu, weeknight dinner or other collection and use the whole thing, swap out a few dishes, or just take inspiration from an idea or two.
But that’s not all. The Menus section is not just about premade menus from the Kosher.com team (although our menus are awesome too).
With the Menu Creator, you can build your entire menu in one place. This is one of the new features we’re most excited about.
Start with a Weeknight, Shabbos, Yom Tov or blank template, then add whatever belongs on your menu. That can be a Kosher.com recipe, but it can also be your own recipe, a screenshot, or just words like “Fruit platter.”
You can add Kosher.com recipes to your menus from the recipe page itself, or in the menu creator by searching the recipe name or pasting the URL directly.
You can add prep notes like “Make Thursday,” “Double this,” or “Take out of freezer Friday morning.” You can also easily rearrange dishes if your plan changes.
Now you can plan out your week of dinners in advance right here on Kosher.com. Can’t think of what to make on Thursday night? Just click the button and we’ll suggest some recipes for you.
And when next year’s Yom Tov comes around, you can duplicate the old menu instead of trying to reconstruct it from memory.
Your menus are by default private to your account, but if you have a menu you really love and want to share with others, you can select the option to publish the menu on Kosher.com. We hope you will!
Less Scrolling While You Cook
We also completely redesigned the recipe page itself. One of our biggest goals was to show you more of the recipe at once.
Scrolling from the ingredients to the directions and back again while you’re trying to cook is annoying, especially when your hands are covered in sticky ingredients.
The new recipe pages are cleaner and more consolidated, so ingredients, instructions, and notes are easier to get to.
And when a recipe step says to bake something for 25 minutes, you can set a timer directly from the recipe page.
We could have made it beep. But we wanted to have more fun with it, so we gave you the option of Jewish music too. More songs coming soon!
Stuck in the Middle of a Recipe? Ask.
We also wanted to make Kosher.com more helpful in the moment when something isn’t going according to plan.
You can now ask questions right on a recipe page. Are you wondering, “Can I make this ahead? Can I freeze it? What can I substitute for this ingredient?” Now you can find out right away.
Bring Your Own Recipes Into Kosher.com

Kosher.com has over 15,000 recipes, and we know you love them, but we also know some of the recipes you use most aren’t ours. They’re yours.
The babka recipe your sister sent you, the kugel recipe in your notes app, the screenshot of the recipe you saw someone post on social media, the handwritten index card from your bubby.
The new Recipe Creator gives those recipes a home too.
Lots of people don’t want to spend time typing out every detail of a recipe. We totally get it! That’s why we built a recipe creator that allows you to upload those images, take a picture of the handwritten card, or even upload a voicenote, and our tool will carefully transcribe and create a perfectly formatted recipe for you to review.
You can enter and save your own recipes privately in the My Kitchen section of the site, or you can also choose to submit a recipe for possible publication in our Home Cooks collection.
Lifestyle is Now Kitchen and Living
We wanted our articles to have a chance to really shine. We publish so much amazing content, but realized that many people didn’t know what “Lifestyle” meant. So, if you’re looking for articles about anything about kitchen, kids, hacks, crafts etc. you’ll find them all in this section. With the dropdown menu, you can jump right to whatever you’re interested in reading about. We can’t wait for you to take a look around and enjoy all the beautiful content here!
And We’re Just Getting Started
There are lots of smaller changes throughout the site too. We added long-requested features like following favorite chefs and shows, a Shoppables section to help you stock your kitchen and home, and overall a smoother experience for saving, organizing and sharing the recipes you love.
Behind all of the changes and new features is the same goal: we want Kosher.com to make cooking easier.
No, not because dinner will magically cook itself. We haven’t figured that one out yet, sorry.
But finding the recipe, planning the menu, remembering what worked last time and keeping everything organized? We can definitely help with that.
Welcome to the new Kosher.com. We can’t wait for you to use it.
