What kid would turn down a banana split?
With good-for-you toppings like granola, fresh fruit, and yogurt, you’ll feel great about what they’re eating, and they’ll start the day with a huge smile!
Feel free to mix up toppings and flavors, or let the kids customize their own! Below are some of our favorite flavor combos.
To make things feel extra special, serve your splits in an adorable banana split bowl. Enjoy!
Tropical Escape
Ingredients:
Banana, cut in half lengthwise
Plain or vanilla yogurt
Pineapple, cubed
Kiwi, cut into half moons
Toasted coconut flakes
Granola
Maraschino cherries, for garnish
Directions:
1. Spoon yogurt in between the banana halves.
2. Top the yogurt with pineapple, kiwi, toasted coconut, and granola. Top with maraschino cherries for garnish, if desired.
A Taste of Autumn
Ingredients:
Banana, cut in half lengthwise
Plain or vanilla yogurt
Apple cubes sauteed in butter (recipe below)
Granola
Pumpkin puree from the can
Caramel sauce for drizzling
Chopped toasted pecans
Directions:
1. To make the sauteed apples, heat 1 Tbsp of butter in a skillet. Add a medium diced apple of your choice.
2. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cook, stirring occasionally for 5-7 minutes or until soft.
3. For the banana split, spoon the yogurt between the banana halves. Top with apples, granola, pumpkin puree, caramel drizzle and pecans.
PB&J
Ingredients:
Banana, cut in half lengthwise
Strawberries, sliced
Strawberry jam
Chopped peanuts
Crushed graham cracker pieces
Peanut butter melted in the microwave for 30 seconds
Directions:
1. Spoon the yogurt in between the banana halves.
2. Top with strawberries, jam, peanuts, graham cracker pieces and peanut butter drizzle.
Cereal and Milk
Ingredients:
Banana, sliced in half lengthwise
Strawberry yogurt
Strawberries, chopped
Blueberries (cut in half for young kids)
Fruity cereal
Strawberry sauce
Directions:
1. Spoon the yogurt in between the banana halves.
2. Top with fresh berries, cereal and finish with strawberry sauce.
