A thick and hearty stovetop beef or chicken stew that will fill your home with the aroma of comfort.
1 chicken, quartered or 2 pounds beef, neck, chuck or shoulder steak, cubed
3 tablespoons oil
1 onion, sliced
2 tablespoons flour
2 cloves garlic, minced or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1 teaspoon paprika
1 carrot, sliced or grated
2 cups boiling water
Brown meat in oil over high heat until golden.
Reduce heat to medium, add onions and sauté until golden. Move meat to the side.
Sprinkle flour over onions and brown.
Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook over low heat until tender: For chicken, one and a half hours, for beef two and a half hours.
Add water if gravy is too thick.
Spoon gravy over nokerlach, potatoes or rice.

Really delicious recipe, did add some salt as well though since thought it might be needed
