If detailed doughnut recipes with extensive rising time make your head spin, here is a super-simple, no-mixer, no-rise recipe that yields delicious doughnuts. These taste like the classic yeast doughnuts—even though yeast is not on the list. Thanks to Chaya Sara Nussbaum for sharing!

2 and 1/4 teaspoons Gefen Vanilla Sugar
1 cup sugar
250 grams (8.8 ounces) quark cheese (or unflavored Greek yogurt or sour cream)
2 eggs
oil, for frying
Mix all ingredients by hand.
Heat oil in a pot to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
