Classic Knaidlech (Matzah Balls)

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • dash of pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/3 cup seltzer

Directions

Prepare the Knaidlech

1.

Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate for half an hour.

2.

Meanwhile, bring a six-quart pot of water to a boil. Form balls from the matzah meal mixture and drop into the boiling water.

3.

Cook for 20 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon.  

Notes:

Knaidlech can be dropped directly into boiling soup.

Easy and so fluffy! These come out so good. The seltzer and baking powder really make it fluffy.
