It looks so fun! But scary how much junk is actually in our candy…I guess it’s called junk food for a reason….

See the other comments below for sources, bishul akum doesn’t apply to candy as it is not oleh al shulchan melachim.

Does Kosher Miami know that a non-jew is turning on the flame under the pot? I think that can be problematic and turn the candy and the pot non-kosher

I would expect that a frum show like this wouldn’t publicize a non-jew turning on the flame on such a public forum. Even though there might be a leniency for it, you carry a big responsibility with your content. Your name is “kosher”.com; yes fun and interesting shows are important, but kashrus and a kosher vibe should be a priority.

We appreciate your concern for halacha! We agree it’s very important for the public to be educated about these halachos. The laws of bishul akum do not apply to foods that are not “oleh al shulchan malachim”, and candy does not fall into that category. See Yoreh Deah 113:1, or if you prefer English, read this article for a review of the relevant halachos: https://www.star-k.org/articles/kashrus-kurrents/2168/food-fit-for-a-king-reviewing-the-laws-of-bishul-akum-and-bishul-yisroel/
