Every time I make these, they are devoured. My sisters like them so much, they actually offer to clean the kitchen if I make them…
12 oz egg noodles
6 XL eggs
1/2 cup onion soup mix
6 Tbs flour
1 Tbs soy sauce
1 tsp salt
oil for frying
6 Tbs butter
6 Tbs flour
1 and 1/2 cups milk
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
sautéed onions
Cook noodles for 3 minutes in salted boiling water. Drain, rinse, drain well again.
Mix in remaining ingredients.
Drop into hot oil, about 3 Tbs at a time.
Fry on each side until golden.
Melt butter, mix in flour.
Slowly add milk, stirring continuously until a roux forms.
Stir in spices.
Top latkes with roux and fried onions.
