3 pounds plums (Hungarian or President or some of each)
2 tablespoons sugar
Cut plums in half, remove pits. Place into 4-quart pot, add sugar.
Cook over very low heat until juices of plums are released.
Increase heat to medium-low and cook for 30–40 minutes.
Mash or chop coarsely. Serve chilled alongside meat.
