You can never go wrong with a classic pulled beef recipe, that is easy, delicious and perfect for Shabbat!
2 and 1/2 pounds chuck roast
1 large onion, diced
2 tablespoons Gefen Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Alfasi Cabernet Sauvignon or other red wine
1 bottle good quality bbq sauce
splash of hot sauce (optional)
salt
pepper
Place the onions in a crock pot or pan and place the meat on top.
Pour everything inside and cook on low for 12 hours or in the oven on 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Take out and shred. Turn your crock pot to warm and keep it that way until ready to serve. If you made it in the oven, rewarm on a hot plate.

Chuck roast Is chuck eye same as chuck roast?
Yes, you can use either one.
oven method If doing this in the oven does it still need 12 hours?
Since its cooking at a low temp – it’ll still need 12 hours but you can check it every few hours until soft.
Can I use a 3.8 lb beef minute roast. I have never cooked this type of meat before. My son bought it when I asked him to get a french roast but they were out of it.
If I can’t use the beef minute roast for this recipe, any suggestions what to do with it?
Thanks in advance – kathi
