Elevate your dinner routine with this Shawarma Pizza, a delicious fusion of Mediterranean flavors and classic comfort. Combining the beloved tastes of shawarma with the convenience of a ready-made pizza crust, it’s a crowd-pleaser for all ages.
1 and 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs (pargiyot), cut into strips
2 tablespoons Pereg shawarma seasoning
1/4 cup olive oil, divided
1 onion, sliced thin
1 Tuscanini pizza crust
chummus
techina dip
Kalamata olives
olives
Israeli pickles
coleslaw (optional)
pickled red onions (optional)
hot peppers (optional)
zaatar (optional)
schug (optional)
Heat a (non-stick) frying pan and half the olive oil and the onions and sauté until soft and golden.
Add the chicken, olive oil, and shawarma seasoning. Toss to coat the chicken and sear until cooked through, about two minutes per side.
Assemble the pizza by spreading a layer of chummus over the crust, then add the chicken and onions, then layer over top olives and pickles as well as your favorite toppings.
Drizzle with techina.
