As we kick off our Best of the Bungalows series, we're getting to know the participating communities that make bungalow summers so special. Before the fun begins, we asked each participating bungalow colony a few fun questions so you can meet the people, personalities, and traditions that make every colony unique.
Let's dive in!
What is the name of your bungalow colony?
Friendship Cottages
How long has your colony been around?
The original site was built in 1950, and became Friendship Cottages in 1976.

What's a fun fact about your colony?
We have the most dedicated manager who cares about our children as much as we do! (Shoutout to Mrs C!!)
Where is the crowd from?
Brooklyn and Lakewood.
How many units are there?
44.
How would you describe your colony to others?
Our colony isn't fancy. We live in older shacks with leaking toilets and faucets, unreliable ovens and washing machines, and even the occasional raccoon falling through the ceiling. Around 85% of the shacks deal with mice at some point. But despite all of that, the people are what make this place special. The friendships, community, and memories we make every summer are unmatched. That's why, year after year, we keep coming back.
