Hi, we’re Shoshi and Tzippy Newman. Two sisters under the age of 12 who love to bake for Shabbat! Join us as we bake up easy, kid-friendly treats for Shabbat!

We’re back again with a really exciting dessert! So many of you have probably heard of the super trendy Dubai Chocolate bars where you take a silicone mold, drizzle in some white chocolate, pour milk chocolate on top of that, then toast up some kataifi with butter, then add pistachio paste, then pour it over the milk chocolate, then top it with more milk chocolate. WHEW! That was overwhelming just typing it out, let alone actually making it! We wanted to make our own super easy version. The tiny little problem was that we don’t really like pistachio cream so much, and we also don’t think it’s super kid-friendly. So we used peanut butter, and it came out fantastic.

We also wanted this dessert to be pareve so we can serve it at a Shabbos meal, but if you prefer dairy, go with butter and milk chocolate!

Follow these quick, easy steps and you’ll have a blast making it, and enjoy eating it even more. Enjoy!

Dubai Bark

Ingredients:

– 1 package cinnamon or regular graham crackers (if you want it a little sweeter, use the cinnamon like we did. If you are using milk chocolate, you can totally go with regular)

– Dark or milk chocolate, about 16 ounces, divided. Or, 1 and 1/2 bags chocolate chips

– 3 tablespoons peanut butter

– 8 ounces kataifi (half a box), broken up

– 1/2 stick margarine or butter

– Different flavor/color chocolate chips. We use half a bag of white chocolate chips, half a bag of butterscotch chocolate chips, and half a bag of semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Wash your hands and clear your counters.

2. Lay graham crackers down on a lined baking sheet in a single layer, with the ends touching (you can actually do this without graham crackers and just use chocolate and it will also be delicious).

3. Melt chocolate in a microwave or double boiler and smear on top of the graham crackers.

4. Melt margarine in a skillet. Add the kataifi and toast on low heat for about 10-15 minutes or until fully golden.

5. Add in the peanut butter and stir till combined. Remove from heat. Pour the kataifi on top of the chocolate and spread so it fully covers it.

6. Melt whatever other chocolate chips you’d like and drizzle over the entire bark. Tip!!!! We put the entire bag of chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time and then pat it out so it’s fully melted. Then cut a tiny hole on one end and drizzle over the bark.

7. Let it harden (you can put in fridge or freezer) and enjoy!
