45+ Mishloach Manot Theme Ideas!

Believe it or not, Purim is right around the corner! If you need some help thinking of what to pack your mishloach manot with, this list will be helpful to you! We hope these ideas will add some more creativity to your chag!

1. Trader Joe’s Theme

Place all of your favorite Trader Joe’s finds into a Trader Joe’s tote bag or a brown grocery bag! If you go with the brown grocery bag option, you can print out the Trader Joe’s logo and tape it to the outside of the bag.

2. Tea Time Theme

Gather some sugar cookies, tea biscuits, honey, sugar cubes and teas/coffees of various flavors (you can also use iced tea), and package everything together with a tea kettle and/or mug.

3. School Lunch Box Theme
This is an especially cute theme if you have little kids! Assemble foods such as chopped up fruit, fresh veggies, pretzel sticks, crackers, sandwich halves, chocolate chip cookies, and/or a juice box inside of a tin lunch box.

4. Make Your Own Pizza Kit
Everyone loves pizza night! Package some pizza crusts (or pre-made pizza dough), marinara sauce, shredded cheese and toppings/herbs of choice (olives, mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, peppers, pineapple, basil, parsley, etc.) on top of a cookie sheet or pizza stone. Include directions on baking the pizza!

5. Picnic Theme
It doesn’t have to be warm outside for you to bring the picnic vibes to your mishloach manot! Line a picnic basket with a tea towel, and add in items such as an apple, watermelon slices, macaroni salad, coleslaw, sandwiches, vegetable sticks, hummus, guacamole and other picnic-oriented items that come to mind.

6. Teacher Theme

The teachers in your life will love this thoughtful package of items! Place some instant coffee, tea bags and chocolate inside of a travel mug. Include an apple on the side.

7. Breakfast in Bed Theme

To put together this fun theme, place a yogurt, granola, frozen pancakes or waffles, assorted diced fruit, orange juice, instant coffee, hot chocolate, cereal, an oatmeal packet, maple syrup and/or honey on a breakfast tray.

8. Farmer’s Market Theme
Place seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs, and fresh bread – along with your other farmer’s market favorites – into a reusable tote bag.

9. Shabbat Theme
This year, Purim falls out right before Shabbat. Package challah rolls with grape juice, wine, a babka and/or other favorite Shabbat treats! You can wrap everything up on top of a challah board or along with a challah cover.

10. Coffee Theme

I think we can all agree that the #workfromhome life has made us all just a bit more addicted to caffeine. This mishloach manot will be a favorite amongst coffee lovers. Place coffee-flavored Nips, chocolate-covered espresso beans, … and coffee cake or coffee-themed cookies inside/alongside a mug. You can make your own coffee cake or buy it pre-packaged!

11. BBQ Theme
This BBQ-themed mishloach manot is designed to contain everything you’d need for a barbecue minus the meat. We recommend including baked beans, pickles, potato chips or barbecue chips, ketchup, mustard, potato salad, canned corn, and a hamburger or hot dog bun in your package!

You can purchase your own empty bottles and fill them with the condiments of your choice to make this mishloach manot entirely your own!

12. Animal Theme
This theme is especially cute if it goes along with your family’s costumes! Suggestions for what to include in this animal-themed mishloach manot include gummy bears, animal crackers, kosher Swedish fish candies and chocolate molds of different animals.

Alternatively, you can also do a pet theme for your mishloach manot. To do this, you can make cookies in the shape of dog treats, paw prints or bones, and include a tuna packet (or can) and a water bottle in your package. Serve everything in a pet bowl, like this one!

13. Pirate Theme
For a pirate-themed mishloach manot, package chocolate coins with a seaweed snack, saltwater taffy, pretzels or crackers sea salt, a candy necklace and a Ring Pop. You can wrap everything up inside of a bandana.

For a mishloach manot package that is totally Zen, package cucumber and lemon slices with guacamole, lavender-scented tea, a water bottle, and diced fruit.

15. Make-Your-Own-Smoothie Theme

It’s always fun to add an interactive element to your mishloach manot! 16. Milk and Cookies Theme
If you’re looking to keep your mishloach manot simple this year (and we don’t blame you if that’s the case!), then this is the theme for you! Pack some cookies with milk (you can use shelf-stable milk to promote food safety), and you’re good to go!

17. Italian Theme
Bring the delicious flavors and tastes of Italy to your mishloach manot! Place a jar of marinara sauce, pasta, mozzarella cheese, fresh herbs, such as oregano, and olive oil inside of a strainer. Tie everything up in cellophane and red and white string!
To save money, buy olive oil in bulk and fill these jars yourself instead of buying pre-packaged mini olive oils!

18. Peppermint Theme
For a mishloach manot that is super cool, package together all of the peppermint items you can think of. Some ideas include York peppermint patties, peppermint candies, breath mints, peppermint-flavored hot cocoa mix or tea, and peppermint flavored Pretzel Crisps.

19. Circus Theme
Place cotton candy, popcorn, a candy apple, soda, and other fun treats inside of these fun, circus-themed boxes to feel like you are at the circus!

20. Baseball Game Theme

33. Rainbow Theme
Place items of various colors inside of a rainbow-themed bag, such as this one. For red, you can use items such as apple slices or red cinnamon candies; for orange, you can use a clementine or tangerine; for yellow, you can use a yellow lollipop or a banana; for green, a green Laffy Taffy; for blue, blue gummy bears or jelly beans, and for purple, either grapes, purple rock candy, or dark chocolate Hershey’s Kisses, which come in a purple wrapper. 34. S’mores Kit
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Gather all of the items you would need to make delicious s’mores – graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows (and anything else you can come up with). Be sure to include skewers for roasting the marshmallows!

35. Cupcake Decorating Kit
Give your friends and family all of the ingredients and supplies they would need to decorate their own cupcakes! Bake some plain cupcakes and include sliced fruit (we recommend sliced strawberries and sliced bananas), frostings of various colors, sprinkles, chocolate chips, icing, cookie crumbs, and other syrups as well.

36. Israeli Theme

Keep things fresh this Purim – pack various chopped vegetables in mini containers. Don’t forget to include croutons (or crushed tortilla chips/pretzels/sesame sticks/veggie sticks or another item with crunch) and your dressing of choice. Wishing you a happy and healthy Purim!

39. Garden Theme
Create a garden out of food for your mishloach manot! Place crushed up sandwich cookies into flower pots (you can use crumpled up tissue paper to take up the majority of the space in the flower pot and just place the cookie crumbs on top). Next, stick flower lollipops into the “dirt.” You can also use flower-shaped cookie cutters and stick cookies into the dirt. Don’t forget to include some water to keep your garden hydrated!

40. Dunkin’ Donuts Theme

To create this cute theme, place a Dunkin’ Donuts vinyl sticker on a reusable or disposable cup. Place some Dunkin’ Donuts coffee grounds, iced coffee, a donut, and/or several munchkins into pink and orange gift bags.

41. Amish Theme
Line small woven baskets with a checkered cloth napkin and place a loaf of bread, butter, jam, and sugar cookies inside for an Amish theme!

42. Beach Theme
Place your favorite beach treats into a beach bag to bring those awesome warm weather vibes to your family and friends! Some treats we love to eat at the beach include tortilla or pita chips with guacamole and/or salsa, lifesaver candies, seltzer, lemonade, trail mix, and grapes. Wishing you a Purim filled with sunshine!

43. Desserts/Sweets Theme
Package some fun desserts and sweets into this cute party bag. Some ideas include brownies, chocolate chip cookies, licorice, and lollipops. Wishing you a sweet Purim!

44. Baby Theme
For a baby theme, include baby bottle candy, pacifier candy, a lollipop, a juice box, and cookies that are decorated accordingly!

45. Workout/Fitness Theme

Use a sweatband to tie a water bottle or a Gatorade bottle together with a protein bar to make a mishloach manot package that is fitness/workout-themed!

46. First Aid Kit/Doctor Themes
Place small candies, such as jelly beans and Tic-Tacs, into small pill vials for a first aid/doctor-themed mishloach manot. You can add some strawberry syrup to resemble blood, and be sure to include an apple to keep the doctor away in the future!

47. Chocolate Bark Kit Theme
Package some dark chocolate, dried fruit, candy, orange zest, shredded coconut, chopped nuts, banana chips, pomegranate seeds, and other chocolate bark toppings of your choice together with a cookie sheet and some parchment paper. Provide your mishloach manot recipients with instructions on how to assemble the chocolate bark. (Melt the chocolate, spread it out onto the cookie sheet, sprinkle on toppings, and freeze overnight. Break bark into pieces just before serving! Super easy and delicious!)

You can dip pretzels into chocolate (white or dark), and top with red, white, and blue star-shaped confetti sprinkles. Freeze pretzels overnight to solidify chocolate. 49. Mexican Theme
