The goodness of an apple turnover mixed in with classic vanilla ice cream — a perfect combination!
4 large Cortland apples
2 teaspoons Heaven & Earth Lemon Juice
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pint Tuscanini Vanilla Gelato
5 large Gefen Puff Pastry Squares (from a 10-piece package)
Peel and cube apples and place in a two-to-four-quart pot.
Add the next four ingredients to the pot.
Stir over low-medium heat for approximately 25 minutes. Allow to cool.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
Prick puff pastry squares with fork and bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool. Crumble the squares.
Meanwhile, remove ice cream from freezer to thaw slightly.
Add crumbled puff pastry and apple mixture into the ice cream and mix well.
