2 packages of a variety of Tirat Zvi Deli, sliced into strips
1 teaspoon Tuscanini Olive Oil
1/2 cup Gefen BBQ Sauce
1 iceberg lettuce, sliced thin
1/2 red onion, cut in half moons
1/2 cup Gefen Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons Tonnelli Red Wine Vinegar
1/2 teaspoon each dried spices – I used onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped Gefen Banana Peppers
fresh pita
sliced pickles
sliced tomatoes
hot peppers
Heat one teaspoon olive oil in a frying pan, add the deli, and stir.
When sufficiently heated and developing some crunchy edges, add the BBQ sauce.
Stir thoroughly, remove from heat, and cover to prevent drying out.
Meanwhile, assemble the grinder lettuce salad. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, vinegar, and spices. Combine lettuce, onion, and banana peppers in a salad bowl, add the dressing, and toss together until thoroughly combined.
Cut pitas in half, fill with lettuce salad and heated deli in BBQ sauce. Add pickles, hot peppers, or a tomato slice and enjoy!
