Diets This impressive dessert will most definitely be a hit with your crowd! Although this looks quite difficult, this jelly roll is actually simple to make, and will impress everyone. The cake is moist, with flecks of real chocolate, and filled with your favorite frosting. Freeze the filled roll and slice frozen to get really neat slices.
7 eggs, separated
7 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons flour
6 tablespoons ground walnuts
1/2 teaspoon Haddar Baking Powder
3 ounces grated baking chocolate
Gefen Confectioner’ Sugar, for dusting
your favorite frosting
Beat egg whites untill stiff. Add sugar and beat until peaks form.
Reduce speed, add yolks, flour, walnuts and baking powder.
Fold in grated chocolate by hand.
Pour into lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes.
Invert onto dish towel dusted with confectioners sugar. Roll up while still warm.
When cool, unroll and frost with desired frosting and roll up.
