Just delicious! Be sure to use fresh mozzarella cheese (the kind that comes in a ball and can be sliced) and fresh basil leaves.
1 pizza dough
1 cup Gefen Pizza Sauce
3 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese
7 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
6 large basil leaves, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon Gefen Extra Virgin Olive Oil
kosher salt, to taste
black pepper, to taste
If using a pizza oven, preheat according to manufacturer’s instructions. If using a regular oven, preheat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Roll out dough to desired thickness.
Spread sauce over the crust and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Top with mozzarella and basil leaves.
Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Bake 12 minutes in a pizza oven, rotating every four minutes for even cooking, or bake for 20–25 minutes in a regular oven, until cheese is melted and crust is lightly toasted.
