Rich, decadent brownie bars with a hint of cranberry to add some up-to-date, sophisticated flavor.
1 stick butter
4 tablespoons Gefen Cocoa
1 (scant) cup brown sugar
1 and 1/4 cups flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons Haddar Baking Powder
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup cranberries, fresh or frozen and thawed
2/3 cup sour cream
6 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon Haddar Baking Powder
1/2 stick butter
1 egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla Extract
5 tablespoons grated chocolate
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an eight- by eight-inch pan; dust lightly with flour.
Combine first three ingredients in a pan and stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
Stir in flour, baking powder, and eggs. Stir in cranberries. Spread mixture in prepared pan.
Mix all topping ingredients, except chocolate, in a bowl. Beat until smooth.
Spread mixture over batter in pan. Sprinkle evenly with grated chocolate.
Bake about 40 minutes or until firm. Cool completely in pan; cut into squares.
