A unique fried chicken recipe. Chicken breast is wrapped in strips of wonton dough, then deep fried. Serve with fresh Asian-style pico de gallo and guacamole to cut through the fattiness. For more great ideas, watch 4 Amazing Things!
1-1 and 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into long strips
salt, for sprinkling
coarse Gefen Black Pepper, for sprinkling
oil, for frying
12-16 wooden or metal skewers
2 large tomatoes, diced
1 tablespoon finely diced jalapeño pepper, seeds and membranes removed
1/2 red onion, finely diced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon yuzu or lime juice
1 tablespoon Glicks Soy Sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
pinch coarse Gefen Black Pepper
2 ripe avocados
1/4 red onion, finely diced
1 tablespoon finely diced jalapeño pepper, seeds and membranes removed
juice of 1/2 lemon (about 1 and 1/2 tablespoon)
1/2 teaspoon salt
pinch coarse Gefen Black Pepper
Season chicken with salt and pepper. Thread onto skewers.
Working with a stack of wonton wrappers at a time, slice wrappers into very thin strips (as thin as you can). Toss wonton wrappers strips in a bowl. Press chicken into wonton strips to coat.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan. Add chicken; fry until golden and crispy.
Prepare the pico de gallo: In a medium bowl, combine tomatoes, jalapeno, red onion, cilantro, lemon juice, lime juice, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
Prepare the guacamole: In a medium bowl, combine avocado, red onion, jalapeno, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Serve pico de gallo and guacamole alongside chicken strips.

Can I use a different type of wrapper skyoach
it’s recommended to use the Gefen Wonton Wrappers for the best outcome of this recipe!
Freeze Can I fry and then freeze them or it needs to be served fresh
I would recommend making them fresh, you may be able to make them in advance but then you’d want to crisp them up in the oven before serving.
can i use hi i wanted to know if i can use filo dough instead of wonton wrappers
thank you
Phyllo dough is much thinner and more difficult to work with. I think it might burn more easily as well. I have not tried it though, you can try it with one of them and see how it turns out. If you don’t like wonton wrappers, I would suggest maybe trying spring roll wrappers.
