Diets Now for my favorite type of hot cocoa: dark hot chocolate. It’s less sweet but more of an intensely chocolaty flavor.
3/4 cup (or to taste) dark chocolate (60–90% cocoa; the higher the better)
2 cups whole milk
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder, such as Gefen
1 tablespoon Haddar Brown Sugar or maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons Gefen Peanut Butter
whipped cream, for serving
chocolate syrup or cocoa powder, for serving
Start by chopping the chocolate into small chunks.
In a small saucepan add milk and heat until almost boiling. Add chocolate chunks and stir for two to three minutes until fully dissolved.
Add cocoa powder, brown sugar or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and finish with the peanut butter. (Try this recipe with or without the peanut butter.)
Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup or cocoa powder and enjoy!
