Pumpkin spice has become the ubiquitous harbinger of fall. If you can’t get ahold of a storebought pumpkin pie seasoning, you’ll be happy to discover it’s very simple to make yourself. Just mix together cinnamon, ground ginger, clove, nutmeg, and allspice if desired, in the proportions listed below. Pumpkin spice has many, many delicious applications you’ll enjoy all season long.
3 tablespoons Gefen Ground Cinnamon
2 teaspoons Gefen Ground Ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon Gefen Allspice, optional
Mix all ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place up to six months.
Makes 1/4 cup
