These toasted slices of baguette topped with deli and an amazing hot honey drizzle are a simple, delicious, and elegant appetizer.
1 large baguette
3 tablespoons Gefen Olive Oil
1/4–1/2 pound pastrami slices
1/4–1/2 pound turkey slices
1/4 green apple, sliced thinly
1–2 jalapeños, deseeded and cut in rounds
1/4 cup Gefen Honey
2 tablespoons Glicks Hot Sauce
Gefen Crushed Red Pepper (optional)
baby arugula (optional)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking tray with Gefen Parchment Paper.
Slice the baguette into half-inch pieces, for a total of around 24 pieces. Place on baking tray.
Brush oil on both sides of bread. Bake for five to eight minutes or until slightly crunchy.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Smear each baguette with Dijon mustard. Add one to two deli slices, an apple slice, and a piece of jalapeño.
In a bowl, combine hot honey ingredients. Drizzle on baguettes.
Garnish with crushed red pepper and arugula if desired.
