Diets Those of us who are of Hungarian descent may well have fond memories of our grandmothers preparing this classic fried noodles and cabbage. This recipe yields a huge amount- perfect for serving a large crowd.
1 and 1/2 cup oil
4 pounds shredded cabbage
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pepper
5 (12-ounce) packages Manischewitz Bowtie noodles, cooked and drained
Heat oil in a 12-quart pot. Add cabbage and spices.
Sauté cabbage for one hour, stirring occasionally.
Divide between two roaster pans (or three nine- by 13-inch pans) and combine with noodles.

can this be frozen
Yes! It can be kept in an air tight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. When reheating we recommend covering so the noodles do not dry out.
