When you think of appetizers that please everyone, it’s impossible to ignore the magic of “pull apart.” This beautiful deli flower is chock full of pastrami, turkey, and more.
1 (20-oz./567-g.) package pizza dough
1 small onion, diced
oil, for sautéing
1/2 pound pastrami, diced into small pieces
1/2 pound smoked turkey breast, diced into small pieces
1/2 cup sauerkraut, drained
3 tablespoons Heaven & Earth Ketchup
1 and 1/2 tablespoons Haddar Dijon Mustard
black pepper, to taste
Heat oil in a medium-sized frying pan and sauté onion until golden.
Remove from heat and add remaining filling ingredients. Stir to combine.
On a floured surface, roll out pizza dough and cut circles with a cookie cutter or glass that is about three inches (seven and a half centimeters) wide in diameter.
Oil and flour a 10-inch round baking pan. Working with one piece of dough at a time, place a heaping tablespoonful of filling onto half of the dough and fold the other half over it, forming a half circle. Pull the two ends together and pinch shut, forming a petal shape with dough on the outer and inner sides of the petal. Place into the outer edge of the pan, with the point of the petal facing inward. Repeat with the remaining dough, placing the filled “petals” in a round circle in the pan. When the outer ring is finished, begin an inner ring, and then another ring, until the pan is filled. Place one petal in the center. You can create a small deli roll with the leftover dough and filling.
Spray deli pie with oil spray and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius) for 30–40 minutes or until dough is slightly browned. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Freezer Can this be frozen? If yes, how should it be defrosted?
Dough for Pull apart Deli Pie Instead of packaged pizza dough, can one use puff pastry or “homemade” puff pastry dough?
Or even pizza style dough from scratch????
Thanks
Puffpastry might be too dense, But homemade pizza dough should be great.
Can this be frozen? If yes, how should I defrost it?
Yes, I would actually freeze it raw (wrapped in plastic wrap and aluminum foil) and thaw it in the fridge and then brush with oil spray and bake.
Thanks! Is it okay to defrost the dough twice, ie once to cut the circles and fill and agian before baking?
dairy version delicious in a dairy version too!
fill with pizza sauce and shredded cheese
Such a clever idea.
