Diets When I think of Pesach desserts from my youth, grape juice ices always comes to mind. But why should the kids have all the fun? Adults deserve a refreshing ice pop too, and these spiced wine pops are just the thing!
1 (750-milliliter) bottle Elvi Vina Encina Tinto or other dry red wine
1/2–3/4 cup Gefen Honey
4 strips orange zest
juice of 2 oranges
2 cinnamon sticks
5 cloves
4 peppercorns
2 allspice berries
extra-long cinnamon sticks, for serving
Place the wine, honey, zest, juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, peppercorns, and allspice berries into a large pot.
Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for five to 10 minutes. Strain the mixture into a measuring cup, removing all the spices. Pour into popsicle molds.
Freeze the pops for a few hours, then stick a long cinnamon stick into each one and freeze until solid.
Yields about 12 ice pops (depending on size)
