Tilapia Masala with Indian Spice

Fish is a great weeknight supper option, but these super flavorful Indian-style tilapia fillets will change up your dinner menu in a very welcome way.

Ingredients

Spice Mix

  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin, such as Pereg

  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1 teaspoon Gefen Ground Cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom

  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger, such as Pereg

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice, such as Pereg

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Fish

  • 1/2 lemon


Wine Pairing

Baron Herzog Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon

Directions

For the Fish

1.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Create the spice mix by combining all the spices in a small bowl. Mix together the spice mix and the oil.

3.

Bake for 15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

4.

Serve hot. Pairs well with rice.

5.

Place the fish in a baking dish and brush with marinade. Squeeze the lemon over each fillet.

It seems that the final step (5) should precede putting the fish into the oven (step 3).
