For many people, eggs are everywhere during Pesach. They’re in cakes, cookies, kugels, and so many of the desserts we rely on throughout the holiday. But whether you’re dealing with an egg allergy, cooking for someone who is, or simply ran out of eggs in the middle of Pesach prep (it happens!), finding delicious egg-free desserts can feel like a challenge.

The good news? There are plenty of wonderful Pesach treats that don’t rely on eggs at all. From cozy fruit crisps and nutty bars to creamy, decadent desserts, these recipes prove that you can still enjoy sweet, satisfying treats throughout the holiday—no eggs required.

Last year I made two cakes at around this time, a month before Pesach. There was a carrot cake and an apple cake. Both were moist and delicious (don’t worry, they weren’t my first tries; there were versions before those that were not great!) and my family debated on which one I should publish. I really liked that they included wholesome ingredients, not empty calories. Yes, almond flour isn’t light, but at least you feel satiated and it’s nutritious (we can’t say the same about potato starch). Last year I published the carrot cake. This year it’s the apple, the personal favorite of the other half of the family, which is even simpler and easier to prepare. Note that although the ingredients are basic, there are a couple ingredients some might not use (baking soda and maple syrup), but because it’s so few, this most likely can be adapted.

5. Decadent Chocolate Pie (Passover) by Sara Goldstein

Calling all the chocolate lovers for this decadent chocolate pie. It’s so rich and satisfying, and perfect with a glass of tea to end a beautiful Yom Tov meal. I always use Gefen coconut oil spray to ensure my tart removes seamlessly from the pan.

On Pesach, we make batches and batches of fruit crisps. The light and fruity dish is a perfect side to a heavy meal. Or delicious with yogurt for breakfast. Or served warm with a scoop of ice cream for dessert… you get the idea. It’s extremely versatile and can be used in any way!

Which is a good thing even if you’re not health-conscious, because potato starch can get boring after a while!

This almond butter brownie pie is one of my favorite chocolate desserts! The fun thing about these brownies is they are so clean and also so incredibly rich. There are a few ways to play around with this dessert and that’s what makes it one of my favorites.

I love to serve these brownies frozen with a little vanilla ice cream. They hold up the best and simply melt in your mouth. Another option is to split the recipe into two six-inch round pans. After baking, freeze both halves separately, then stack them with a layer of chocolate or vanilla frosting to make a layered brownie cake. However you choose to serve these, they will be delicious!
