If you’ve seen the Har Sinai Cake Truffles we published last week, then you know what “edible moss“ is. After getting so much positive feedback on them, and seeing how easy they were to make, I realized that the possibilities and occasions are endless for “moss” covered treats.
From fairy or woodland-themed birthday parties, Tu Bishvat, Shavuot, Mother’s Day, or even for just an easy activity to make with the kids, edible moss can make a simple treat into something AMAZING in just minutes! (Google it and see all the magical possibilities!)
You only need two simple (and inexpensive) ingredients, and no special equipment.
How To Make Edible Moss For Cakes, Cupcakes, Cookies, And More!
What you'll need:
1 and 1/2 cups crushed graham crackers
Green food coloring or gel
Directions:
1. In a bowl, place the crushed graham crackers.

2. Add a little bit of food coloring at a time and mix until the desired color is achieved. If you are using food gel (which is thicker), you may need to add a drop of water to the gel to coat the crumbs more easily.

3. Mix crumbs with the food coloring until all the crumbs are green.

4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days and use on cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and especially these adorable Har Sinai Truffles!
