How to Make Marbled Vases with Nail Polish—Just in Time for Shavuot

Create a stunning marbled vase for your Shavuos flowers! With just a few simple supplies—and a whole lot of fun—you’ll have the prettiest vase (or vases!) on your Shavuos table this year.

Supplies You'll Need:

- A plain white or clear vase

- A  disposable bowl

- Cold water

- Toothpick

- Nail polish – in 2 or more fun colors

-Parchment Paper

Step 1:

Fill the bowl with cold water until it’s almost full.

Step 2:

Gently drip a few drops of your first nail polish color into the water. Be careful – drop it softly so it floats on top!

Step 3:

Quickly, add more drops of different colors before the polish hardens.

Step 4:

Use a toothpick to gently swirl the colors into a marble design.

Step 5:

Dip the vase into the bowl. Hold it there for 3 seconds.

Step 6:

Remove your vase from the water and place onto parchment paper to dry. Place the vase aside on a safe surface and let it dry for at least 12 hours.

Then admire the design you just made!

Ta-da! Use your new masterpiece to display flowers for Shavuos and make your tablescape extra special!

Do you need to use a smooth vase (on the outside) or can it have ridges or indents in it?

Mushky used a white ceramic vase. But you can also use white hard plastic. (The nail polish shows up the best on white.)

Can you dip the vase multiple times into the same polish? Or you have to make a new bowl every time you dip?

You can try if you still have a nice amount of polish in the bowl. Otherwise, add more polish to the same bowl and dip again.
