Chanukah isn't over yet! There's still plenty of fun to have over the next 2 days, which is why we're sharing a tutorial for this adorable Magen David donut!
It's so much easier to make than it looks, and it's the perfect activity to do with the kids before the holiday ends. It requires super simple ingredients (most of which you probably already have in the pantry), and doesn't take long to make at all!
Follow the how-to below and have fun!
What You'll Need:
-Your favorite yeast donut recipe
-Oil for frying
-Powdered sugar
Directions:
Follow the steps for your chosen donut recipe until the part where you cut the donuts for the second rise.

Cut 6 pieces of dough, about 30 grams each.

Roll each dough ball into a snake. Form the six snakes into one triangle on the bottom, then a second on top to create a Jewish Star shape.
Cover and allow to rise again, per recipe instructions, while your oil heats.

Place your star-shaped donut on a square piece of parchment paper for easier transferring. When your oil temperature reaches 360 degrees Fahrenheit, carefully place your donut and paper into the oil and remove the paper with tongs. Fry about 1.5 minutes on each side.

Remove your donut from the oil. Let it drain on a rack and cool for 5 minutes.

Top with powdered sugar and serve warm with your favorite Tuscanini jam for dipping.

We hope you and your family give this a try! It's so fun, easy and festive!
