Do you make soup so good it could heal a cold in one spoonful? Does your family count down the minutes till your cholent hits the table? Are your rugelach famous in three zip codes? Then it’s time to roll up your sleeves, tie on that apron, and step into the spotlight—because The Great Bubby Cook Off is officially on!

Whether you’re a real Bubby, a future Bubby, or just someone who cooks like one, this contest is your moment to shine. We’re calling on all women over 18 (sorry, kids—this one’s for the grown-ups!) to submit a 2–5 minute video sharing their most beloved Jewish dish. Sweet, savory, traditional, with a twist—if it’s got heart and heritage, we want it.

The top four finalists will be flown to New York for a live cook-off showdown. Think: mixing bowls, spatulas, fierce competition, and major kvelling. We’ll cover your airfare, hotel, and make sure everything is fully kosher and contestant-friendly.

The Grand Prize

You’ll be crowned Bubby 2025, and win the following:

-Take a victory lap through NYC with the Manischewitz Food Truck

-Will guest appear on Naomi Nachman’s cooking show

-Win a cash prize of $5,000

-Your recipe will be added to a collector’s item reprint of a historic kosher cookbook

How to Enter:

1. Submit one video by July 1, 2025 at 11:59PM EST

2. Upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive (make sure it’s public!)

3. Paste the link into our submission form and you’re in!

Any further questions? Please see our FAQ page; for more information about entering the contest.
