Planning a trip this chol hamoed? It is important to know that men are obligated to eat all their meals in a sukkah all seven days of Sukkot. Young boys (already five or six) who can eat independently of their mothers are obligated as well.

It is only considered a meal if one will eat more than an egg’s volume of bread or Mezonot (e.g. cakes, pasta, and oatmeal) at the meal.

Even if a snack of Mezonot is more than the volume of an egg, it should be eaten in the Sukkah; however, one would not say the blessing, “Leisheiv b’sukkah.”
