Delicious and beautiful dish to serve or bring to a pot luck dinner or reception. I’ve brought this many times to parties with (non-Jewish) co-workers. it’s a meal for me, and everyone enjoys!
1/2 green pepper chopped finely (or you can use canned, drained)
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1/2 bag shredded iceberg lettuce
1 can refried beans
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 package Taco seasoning
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sliced or chopped black olives
16 ounces sour cream (low or nonfat)
16 ounces salsa
1 bag of tortilla chips
1 tomato chopped (or you can use canned, drained)
Choose a pretty serving dish and layer everything in the order as above.
Mix with refried beans with the taco seasoning and schmear it on the bottom.
Mix cream cheese with the sour cream. spread over bean layer.
Layer on the salsa.
Spread tomatoes evenly over.
Spread green peppers evenly over.
Spread green onions on top.
Sprinkle lettuce on top.
Shake the cheese on top to cover it all.
Sprinkle olives on top (mostly for color).
Stick tortilla chips in at the bottom all around. put extras in a bowl nearby.
